About us
Gerald David & Family Butchers is a local West Country family business with an excellent reputation for producing the very finest locally farmed meats.
Since being established in 1969 by Gerald and his wife Jenny, the family have gone from strength to strength, with all 3 sons and daughter now working in the business. The family have 5 butcher shops in Minehead, Dulverton, Taunton, Newton Abbot and Topsham, and a superb Delicatessen and Fish Shop in Minehead.
Animal welfare is an important aspect of the business, all Gerald David's meat comes from local farms where they are naturally fed and allowed quality of life. All animals come from a radius of about 10 miles to a maximum of 35, so they do not suffer stress from travelling.
Having our own abattoir, which is Freedom Foods Approved, enables Gerald David and Family to ensure that animals are treated with care and respect, and we can therefore provide total traceability, from pasture to plate.
Travelling around the country with our mobile meat shop, visiting country shows and events we have expanded our mail order business to be able to supply our quality West Country meats throughout the UK. The success of the business has been built on the consistent quality of meat and the total control of the sourcing and supply and we hope you enjoy our products.
